Earnhardt 5th and
tough as ever in the Pepsi 400 Dale Earnhardt started 38th but posted a fifth
place finish. "I had a lot of fun today. The car got tight at the end of the
run and they just beat us," said Dale Earnhardt. Bobby Labonte won the Pepsi 400
followed by Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett and Dale Earnhardt. Chad Little
bounced off the side of Earnhardt coming out of turn four on the final lap trying to take
away the fifth place spot but Earnhardt was able to hold his line and keep Little in check
to secure the fifth spot. Steve Park was 20th and Dale Earnhardt Jr finished 24th.
Earnhardt is still seventh in the points battle. ESPN gets a big thumbs down for leaving
race coverage which was schedule until 4 p.m. to show a taped version of NASCAR Shop Talk.
Park posts 12th place
finish and moves DEI team to 24th in Points August 16, 1999 - Steve Park was among the fastest in pre-race practice but had to take a
provisional starting position, 39th. Although disappointed with his qualifying effort Park
moved steadily through the field finishing 12th, his fouth consecutive top-fifteen finish.

Earnhardts 600th
consecutive start a rough one August 15, 1999- (AP) - Dale Earnhardt's 600th consecutive start ended on a sour note Sunday in
the Frontier at the Glen. Earnhardt started 14th but a last lap spin relegated him to a

Earnhardt to make it
600 at the Glen
Dale Earnhardt, seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion, is scheduled to make
history at Watkins Glen on August 15th when he is scheduled to make his 600th consecutive
career start. Earnhardt will attempt to qualify for Sunday's Frontier @ The Glen on

Ironman Dale August 11, 1999 - Dale Earnhardt is well on down the comeback trail and feeling quite good about
his lot in life. He's facing his 600th consecutive career start on the Winston Cup tour
here this weekend, and he's still looking ahead optimistically to an eighth NASCAR title

enable New York native Steve Park to claim his first career victory. But Andrews, his
second-year driver, and the rest of the NASCAR Winston Cup field must combat a new and
often dreaded element when the series visits the 2.45-mile course this weekend --

a way, Dale Earnhardt already has started his farewell tour. Unlike Darrell Waltrip, he's
not sure when it will end. "I don't want to even come to the day that I have to get
out of the race car and not get back in," the 47-year-old, seven-time NASCAR Winston

Earnhardt is poised to set an IROC record on Friday. He has already tied Rusty Wallace as
the only driver to win three IROC races in a season. But Friday Earnhardt can sweep the
1999 IROC series by winning the fourth and final race of 1999. No one in the history of
IROC has accomplished that and Earnhardt is going for the record books. But don't count

look at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - When the GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet rolls off the Richard
Childress Racing transporter at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the infamous black No. 3 will
have a different look. As seven-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion Dale Earnhardt
takes to the historical 2.5-mile speedway, the name will be the same, but the hood of the
No. 3 Chevrolet will be a replica of the GM Goodwrench Service Plus sign that appears as
